Education and Community Engagement

361 Energy provides education and training in several ways:

Schools

We run an age-appropriate series of educational workshops on energy and Climate Change in primary and secondary schools & colleges, which include using two energy bicycles. The aim of these workshops is for children to understand energy generation and efficiency, the links between energy and climate change, provide constructive actions they can take to help them (and their parents!) to reduce their carbon footprints and introduce career options in the green transition.

The key themes and content elements of our workshops across age ranges:

  • Energy production and renewable energy
  • The green energy and fossil fuel carbon cycles
  • The link between carbon & our climate
  • Carbon footprinting
  • How to reduce your carbon footprint
  • Green energy career opportunities

Workshops

We organise works shops for councils and local business groups on Climate Change, energy efficiency and reducing carbon footprints.

Front line worker training

We regularly hold front line worker training sessions online or onsite for organisations in North Devon and Torridge. The topics include fuel poverty, energy saving behaviour change, the link between fuel poverty and health and the support 361 Energy can provide to clients.

Events

We organise a wide variety of events to raise awareness of fuel poverty, renewable energy, Climate Change and retrofitting homes and businesses to be more energy efficient and lower carbon emissions. These include local events to advise residents on options for domestic retrofit, the 361 Energy Fair, renewable energy tours, talks from experts and educational film nights.
