The award in recognition of the valuable contribution that volunteers make to our community was presented to Ian by Councillor Sue Croft at the event which took place at the Cedars Inn in Barnstaple.
Ian is a valued member and active volunteer of 361 Energy CIC. He has been instrumental in helping to raise the profile of 361 and its activities. In particular, he has helped to coordinate the delivery of events such as the successful 361 Energy Fair which promotes carbon reduction and awareness in Northern Devon attracting around 30 local organisations and businesses and around 1500 members of the public. He also helps out at our events and is always willing to assist people with energy efficiency and fuel poverty advice.
Besides 361 Energy, Ian is also an active volunteer of a number of other organisation such as the TorrAge Ageing Well project teaching Tai Chi to senior citizens 5 lessons per week, and is involved with the Bus Shelter project working for local homeless people. He also supported a local children’s project for 5 years until its closure.
We really appreciate Ian’s contribution to our organisation, his enthusiasm and support to 361 has really helped us make a difference in our community. We are delighted that his hard work has been recognised with this award.
