Last year 361 Energy received some funding from Fullabrook CIC to run a school program. The aim of the program was to deliver sessions to local schools about energy usage and climate change.

Before the school closures, our STEM ambassadors visited many schools with our Pedal Power Energy Bikes. The bikes are a practical tool to show how much energy it takes to boil just one teaspoon of water or power an LED lightbulb. One of our favourite parts of running the workshops is to hear all the many ideas the pupils have to reduce our impact on climate change.

In recent weeks, we have switched our in person workshops to supporting some of our local schools with online workshops.

We look forward to a time when our schools are open again, where we can engage with and work with the academic community in Northern Devon along with the wider community.

During this time of lockdown we are working on some educational resources which we will share here in the future.  In the meantime, if you have children at home and are looking for resources to help teach them about energy, science and sustainability here are some online resources that have been recommended by some of our volunteers:

For now, we hope you are all safe and well. Follow us on social media for more regular energy saving tips whilst we are all staying safe at home.
