Morchard Bishop Solar Farm  –  Saturday 5th July 2014

Many environmental community groups in the south west are currently investigating developing community energy projects.  Therefore our visit to the 1MW solar farm near Morchard Bishop on 5th July is quite timely.  There will be the opportunity to see the scale of this project, how it affects the land and whether it can still be used for animal grazing.  For the more technically minded, there will be a chance to learn about solar panels and inverters.  We would like to thank Light Source Renewables for providing access to this site and offering us a guided tour.  There is also a smaller PV array on the site and Biomass boiler.  We will be leaving for the Solar Farm from the Devonshire Dumpling Pub at Morchard Road at 1.30pm.  Some of us will be arriving earlier for lunch or a drink.  If you would like to join us on this visit, please e-mail paul@361energy.org
