Petroc is recruiting students for the Foundation Degree in Environmental Management course which starts in September.\u00a0 This course in association with Plymouth University is ideal for those based in North Devon who wish to train locally for work in the environmental sector.\u00a0 It lasts two years when studied full time, although there is the option to study part time.\u00a0 Students who successfully complete the FdSc course can obtain a full BSc(Hons) from Plymouth University by completing a third year on the appropriate course at Cornwall College or Plymouth University.<\/strong><\/p>\n The course focuses on sustainability in the UK and abroad.\u00a0 Much of the work is practical and includes visits, project work and development of skills for use in the workplace.\u00a0 There is the opportunity to make contact with projects in Africa and the United States.\u00a0 Closer to home, the course makes use of the North Devon Biosphere Reserve and studies the Transition Town movement, with its base nearby in Totnes.\u00a0 North Devon is also well placed to study a wide range of low carbon technologies.
